I am a retired Associate Professor in design and media with over 25 years of experience in tertiary level education. Throughout this time I have held responsibilities as a teacher, senior lecturer, associate professor, course coordinator, programme leader, associate head and acting head of school. I have frequently held positions of responsibility for course design, change management, and the management of teachers, support staff and academics. Experienced in methods of design and systems thinking, I always endeavour to apply empathy, collaboration, attention to detail, and an awareness of the bigger picture when solving challenges around design and education. As a practitioner and researcher, I am also involved in current research around animation and VR, and has personally published over 40 articles in conferences and journals in over 10 countries. Recent creative works include the animated movie “Colour Me Free” which screened in 34 international film festivals, receiving 14 awards. I have been external assessor, degree programme advisor and assessment moderator for several universities and polytechnics, in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
